Your Host

Your host, Guy Jeans, grew up in the coastal Californian city of Ventura. He is the CEO of Kern River Fly Shop and a Certified Casting Instructor with Fly Fishers International. He guides, lectures, and teaches over 250 days a year all over the Southern Sierra, Sequoia National Forest, Inyo National Forest, Golden Trout Wilderness, Domeland Wilderness and South Sierra Wilderness. He also guides and teaches "Fly Fishing in the Surf" classes along the California coastline.

 

In 2012, Guy received the "Lee Wulff Award" from the International Federation of Fly Fishers. He has fly fished all over the US, Mexico and Canada and loves to catch all species of fish on a fly.

 

He is also the host of the critically acclaimed show and DVD series "Sierra Fly Fishing" and writes articles about fly fishing for magazines and newspapers throughout the west.

 

He is sponsored by Redington Fly Rods and is a contract fly designer for Solitude Fly Company. His Kern Emergers, Carpilicious and other patterns are used and sold internationally.

 

  Guy is also vocalist, keyboardist and song writer for the ska/reggae band "Stoneflys".
